Departing from and returning to the « Logistics base », (shuttle buses will be parked in the area between the car parks, the Event Organisers HQ and the Logistics Base).
All departure times are from between 08.00 et 09.15 (with the exception of the walks scheduled for Sunday and Thursday).
Return times for the shorter walks (less than 10 km) will be between 15.30 and 16.30 (with the exception of Wednesday’s walk in Montluçon, return for approximately 18.30 : free time in Montluçon the afternoon).
Return times for the longer walks (more than 12 km) will be between 17.30 and 19.00. Prices shown include return transport and entry to the site(s) to be visited, but do not include lunch.

You will be informed of the exact departure and return times for each walk in your information pack upon your arrival at the Semaine Fédérale.

Sunday 3 August

PLEASURES OF THE VINEYARD
3 marked (with arrows) circuits departing from the Semaine Fédérale village.
7-14 or 24 km (departures at staggered times).
1 common picnic point for all 3 circuits.

Monday 4 August

SECRETS OF THE BOURBONNAIS CHURCHES
Morning walk : 8 km
Price : 11 €

Lunch at the information centre in Charroux or picnic at the participant’s cost.

Full day’s walk : 14 km
Price : 15 €

Criss-cross the ridges of Ussel to discover a magnificent panorama across the plain to Chantelle and Etroussat. A completely unspoilt view offers views of the Mountains de la Madeleine and those of the Forez as well as the chain of the Puys.
The route will take you to some beautiful bourbonnais churches, of roman and gothic styles. Each church, a harbinger of secrets that they may reveal to you ….

THE FOREST OF THE COLETTES AND ITS HERITAGE
Morning walk : 9.5 km

Lunch at the Information centre in Bellenaves or at the participant’s cost.
Full day’s walk : 16 km
Price : 18 €

The diversity of the countryside will charm you !
Starting in the forest of the Colettes, you will then cross some open and beautiful countryside. Nature and art blending in the countryside : works of art, remarkable churches of the locality, testimony to rural life !

BETWEEN BESBRE AND THE CHATEAUX (CASTLES)

A peaceful walk in the heart of the "bocage" (means hedge-lined pastures), lulled by the gentleness of the river Besbre. BESIDE THE RIVER ALLIER
Morning walk : 8 km

Lunch at the Information centre in Moulins (CNCS) or picnic at the participant’s cost.
Full day’s walk : 13 km
Price : 15 €

Access the Nature reserve of the Allier valley, second largest nature reserve in France, after the Camargue, for its population of identified migrating birds. An educational walk beside the river, will lead you the town of Moulins. The afternoon, the walk becomes more urban. Awake your curiosity and criss-cross the streets of Moulins, a town of art and history. A real jewel !

Wednesday 6 August

THE AUMANCE VALLEY
Morning walk : 8 km

Full day’s walk : 18 km
Price : 19 €

Forest, river, stones and "bocage". What a fine programme ! Today’s walk is full of charm and style ! The Medieval village of Hérisson and its fortress will take you back in time to the era of the Bourbons.
The Aumance valley and its romantic airs will certainly charm you !

Wednesday 6 August

BESIDE THE CANAL
Morning walk : 6.5 km (please note, includes a very steep slope to walk down !)
Price : 12 €

Lunch at the information centre in Montluçon (ATHANOR) or picnic at the participant’s cost.
Full day’s walk : 13.5 km
Price : 19 €

A very pleasant walk that includes the many points from which to view Montluçon. You will learn about the development of this town following the construction of the Berry canal. The now obsolete railway line kown as the "Chemin de fer à ficelle" used for transporting coal from Commentry to Montluçon from 1846, the "plan incliné", a different method to locks for permitting canal barges to "climb" or "descend" gradient, the château of the Louvière…. testimony to the C.19th and its rich industrial past. Despite being in the very heart of the town, you will appreciate the natural habitat as you follow the banks of the river Cher which will lead you to the Athanor centre: the high point of today’s walk.
Those walkers preferring the morning only walk of 6.5 km will have free-time as they wish to discover Montluçon’s town centre.
For those who have opted for the full day’s walk of 13.5 km, you will leave after lunch by bus for the forest of Tronçais. You will visit the heart of one of Europe’s most beautiful oak forests. Let yourself be transported by its remarkable history and trees, some of whch are three hundred years old, the woodland management and biodiversity. A real bouquet of fresh air !

BEAUTIFUL VICHY
Morning walk : 6.5 km
Meet up at the racecourse in Vichy.
Guided walk. Departing from between 09.00 and 09.45. A 6.5 km loop in the parks of Vichy, in the footprints of the Napoleonic era.

Friday 8 August

IN THE SHADE OF THE RANDAN WOODS
Morning walk : 7 km
Price : 11 €

Lunch at the Information centre in Randan or picnic at the participant’s cost.
Full day’s walk : 14 km
Price : 15 €

A very pleasant walk in the shade of the woods. A walk in the Puy de Dôme département, offering some spectacular views of the "chaîne des Puys" (the chain of volcanos).
Discover the history of the royal domain of Randan, a property belonging to the last royal family of France !

Friday 8 August

DISCOVERY OF THE BOURBONNAIS MOUNTAINS
Morning walk : 7 km
Price : 11 €

Lunch at the Information centre in Lavoine or picnic at the participant’s cost.
Full day’s walk : 15 km
Price : 15 €

And yes, there are mountains in the Allier. The highest point of the Bourbonnais mountains tops out at 1,300m. A walk through the greenery and valleys taking you to the summit of the volcano the rock of Saint-Vincent, from where you will appreciate the fine views. A walk that’s 100 % nature and fresh air !

BOURBON AND ITS MEDIEVAL FORTRESS
Morning walk : 8 km
Price : 11 €

Lunch at the Information centre in Bourbon or picnic at the participant’s cost.
Full day’s walk : 13 km
Price : 17 €

This walk is full of beautiful cultural discoveries : due to the medieval fortress, the birthplace of the Bourbon royal dynasty and the Auguste Bernard museum which retraces 2,000 years of bourbonnais life.
Give your holiday in the Bourbonnais a bourbonnais bearing !

Saturday 9 August

TREASURES OF THE BOCAGE
Morning walk : 7 km
Price : 11 €

Lunch at the Information centre in Besson or picnic at the participant’s cost.
Full day’s walk : 15 km
Price : 15 €

Today’s walk, a nature trail will take you into the heart of the "bocage", (meaning hedge-lined pastures). Châteaux and other interesting sites criss-cross our circuit…
